‘Confidence’ comes from the Latin word ‘fidere’ which means ‘to trust’. In my Coaching Practice, I help people know themselves and trust themselves so they can live a life they love with self belief and courage. Confidence is within all of us. Think of it like a muscle. It has to be used and developed a little bit at a time to grow and get stronger.

Here are 5 steps you can take to grow your confidence so you can enjoy new experiences that come your way and live a happy, fulfilling life.

STEP 1: KNOW WHO YOU ARE
Sounds obvious, right? ‘Who am I?’ It’s a small question with a BIG answer. Know what you stand for; what your values, strengths and weaknesses are. Know your boundaries; what you’ll accept and what you won’t accept. Know the kind of person you want to be and what you need to do to get the outcomes you want.

STEP 2: LOVE WHO YOU ARE
There’s nobody else on Earth like you. That’s amazing. Love ALL the parts of you, even the parts you’d rather hide or not have.

STEP 3: BE THE MASTER OF YOUR MINDSET
Prove to yourself you CAN do it. Refuse to accept negative self-talk. Talk to yourself like someone you love. Find people who inspire you and find out how they achieved the outcomes you want. BELIEVE that anything is possible and adopt an ‘I can do anything’ mindset.

STEP 4: BE COURAGEOUS
It’s ok to feel fear but don’t let the fear control you. Fear tells you you’re stepping out of your comfort zone, and that’s a GOOD thing. People who do brave things feel the fear and have the COURAGE to do it anyway.

STEP 5: TAKE ACTION
Do a little to exercise your confidence muscle every day. Begin by taking small risks and you’ll start to notice the amazing sense of accomplishment when you overcome nerves and fear.
