I decided to seek coaching through work because I was not feeling entirely confident at the prospect of stepping up into a new role and wanted to better understand my strengths.
I wanted coaching to help improve my confidence and self-belief. Other people would tell me that I was doing a great job and that I was confident etc, but I wouldn’t necessarily believe them or accept the positives.
Through coaching I have learned that I can do all things I put my mind to. Before working with Bec I was feeling very nervous about beginning my journey as a line manager for the first time. I was particularly anxious about my age and managing those older than me. I was full of self-doubt, questioning my abilities and worthiness of my new position. I looked to coaching as a way to explore these feelings and help find mechanisms to overcome them.
It’s been a very valuable experience working with Bec. In each session I developed a better understanding of myself, my goals and my values. It was particularly helpful to converse with such a calm confidant. It’s clear Bec has a fantastic ear – listening carefully to all of my thoughts and feelings, and helping me unpick and understand them. The resources – from chapters of texts, leadership books, quotes and recommendations were really appreciated.
